Food for Thought – Exploring Metaphors from a CBT Perspective with Steve Killick

This workshop will look at the ways metaphors influence our thinking and how therapists can explore clients metaphors in ways that facilitate engagement and change. The workshop will look at the links between cognition and metaphor and have practical exercises drawing upon ideas from CBT and Systemic models that will develop clinical skills.
Steve Killick is a Clinical Psychologist, BABCP accredited CBT practitioner in independent practice. He also works as a storyteller and has a long interest in using metaphor and stories in education and therapy. He has written ‘Emotional Literacy at the Heart of the School Ethos’ and ‘Telling Tales: Storytelling as Emotional Literacy’ (with Taffy Thomas). He is Visiting Fellow at the George Ewart Evans Centre for Storytelling at The University of South Wales.
2020 workshops cost £35 for ACPNL members, £50 for others.
