This will be an opportunity for you to explore with colleagues what to do if ethical considerations clash. We will look at which principles we use to decide how to act.
- Do those principles hold in all situations?
- Which principles may conflict and which should we / do we prioritise?
- Some of us might think there are obvious answers; others might disagree.
“I am an accredited member of the BACP and a longstanding member of the ACPNL. I was a social worker for about 35 years but as time for actual conversation with clients was whittled away I decided to train as a counsellor. I qualified at The City University in London around 1994. The orientations on that course were person-centred, gestalt and existential. I have worked in private practice and in a number of voluntary sector agencies. I work with a very small number of clients as I am involved in all sorts of other things as well as counselling”.
